A funeral or memorial ceremony offers time and space to come together, reflect, and honour a life that has been lived. As a civil celebrant, I create ceremonies that are personal, calm, and shaped around each family’s wishes. There is no set format and no expectation to follow a particular structure. Every ceremony is written with care, taking into account the life, values, and relationships of the person being honoured.

While the ceremonies I lead are civil in nature, I recognise that tradition, faith, and symbolism can be very important to some families. Where appropriate, I am happy to include religious readings, prayers, music, or symbolic elements if these are meaningful to you or reflect the wishes of your loved one. My role is to support you in creating a ceremony that feels right for your family, whatever form that may take.

I work closely with families to listen, to guide gently, and to help shape a ceremony that feels personal and considered. This may include shared memories, tributes, readings, music, moments of reflection, or simple rituals. Whether you would like something traditional, contemporary, or somewhere in between, the ceremony will be created with sensitivity and respect.

Funerals and memorials can take place in a variety of settings, including crematoria, burial grounds, natural spaces, or private venues. Memorial ceremonies may also be held some time after a funeral, offering an opportunity to gather and remember in a way that feels less pressured or formal.

I understand that every family, every loss, and every set of circumstances is unique. My aim is to provide calm reassurance and thoughtful guidance, helping you feel supported throughout the process and confident that the ceremony will honour your loved one with dignity and care.

If you would like to talk about arranging a farewell or memorial ceremony, or if you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.
